Training

We want our community to be prepared in the case of an emergency or a disaster. This is why we offer free training and support in both English and Spanish.

Led by CERT Program Manager and Lead Instructor David Cosgrave, this is the FEMA 20-24 hour classroom + hands-on basic emergency preparedness and response skills training class offered with special local emphasis on potential Coastside emergencies.

See our CERT training page.

LISTOS (www.cfalistos.org) is a state-wide grassroots disaster preparedness program that can be tailored to meet the individual needs of Spanish-speaking communities. Family-oriented and taught in Spanish, the program is delivered in a format that is both culturally and linguistically appropriate for the target population.

The Great Coastside ShakeOut is a Coastside-wide earthquake and radio drill offering all Coastside neighborhoods and local emergency response agencies the opportunity to participate in a unified emergency response exercise.

Advanced CERT Training (ACT) slides and other documents

Slide decks and other documents from the advanced training classes offered to CERTs to provide in-depth training for subjects taught in the basic class and also topics of interest that may not have been covered in the basic class.

Find recordings from additional training that has been provided over the years including water purification and what to do in a mudslide.
