We want our community to be prepared in the case of an emergency or a disaster. This is why we offer free training and support in both English and Spanish.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Led by Fire Battalion Chief and CERT Program Manager David Cosgrave, this is the FEMA 20-24 hour classroom + hands-on basic emergency preparedness and response skills training class offered with special local emphasis on potential Coastside emergencies.

LISTOS (www.cfalistos.org) is a state-wide grassroots disaster preparedness program that can be tailored to meet the individual needs of Spanish-speaking communities. Family-oriented and taught in Spanish, the program is delivered in a format that is both culturally and linguistically appropriate for the target population. The next Listos training dates on the Coastside are November 4 & 5, 2021.

The Great Coastside ShakeOut
The Great Coastside ShakeOut is a Coastside-wide earthquake and radio drill offering all Coastside neighborhoods plus Branch 3 & 4 and local emergency response agencies the opportunity to participate in a unified emergency response exercise.
This year The Great Coastside Shake Out will take place on Saturday morning, October 9, 2021. The first step is for each participant to register for a 15 minute Zoom hosted by Fire Division Chief David Cosgrave. The registration link is here.
